Rubens Barrichello starting on Pole Position has won the Italian Grand Prix at Monza today on a drying track, holding off team mate Michael Schumacher in second , with Jenson Button third.Takumo Sato was 4th with Juan Pablo Montoya in 5th and David Coultard in 6th. An impressive Alonso was unlucky to spin off and retire, as was Kimi Raikkonnen, who was forced to park in the McLaren garage with technical difficulties. Altogether an exciting race, and another shot in the arm for the F1 season.Unfortunately, the chanpionships are decided and there is only the best of the rest positions to play for now in the remaining races

In an action packed race with multiple retirements, Kimi and Michael took advantage of numerous safety car outings to finish ahead of Brazilians Barrichello and Massa in 3rd and 4th. Giancarlo Fisichella was 5th. There were 9 retirements including Montoya, Pizzonia, the two Minardis, the two B.A.R.s, Mark Webber and Fernando Alonso. A great race at the best circuit in the world ,a suitable scene for Schumi to make history and a fitting tribute to Raikonnen's ability and the resurection of McLaren Mercedes.

Sun 11-Jul-2004 13:32
Michael Schumacher has again turned a low grid position and difficult race situation into a parade today at Silverstone. Starting from 4th, the soon to be 7 times World Champion ,reeled in Raikkonen's early lead through blistering in and out laps and some luck with the traffic as he effortlessly eased his way through the pitstops. Not even an outing by the safety car, following a huge shunt by Trulli, could deter the German's charge. Raikkonen simply did not have the pace to challenge the Ferrari, and finished second. Rubens Barrichello was third with Jenson Button in fourth. Juan Pablo Montoya was 5th, and with an unbelievable drive from the back of the grid , Giancarlo Fischella drove the race of his life to 6th.David Coultard was 7th, with Mark Webber picking up the final point for Jag in 8th

French Grand Prix

Michael Supreme in France!!

Sun 04-Jul-2004 14:02
Michael Schumacher took the chequered flag in Magny Cours today ahead of Spaniard and pole sitter Fernando Alonso following a ding dong battle for the lead between the two. Exchanging blistering in and out laps, Ferrari took the unprecedented step of bringing Schumacher in for 4 pit stops due to a short pit straight and high tyre wear. The German still though had 8.3 seconds in his pocket at the end of the race ahead of the Renault. Third was Rubens Barrichello in a great perofrmance from 10th on the grid, cheekily passing Trulli on the last corner for the podium spot.In 5th was Jenson Button , followed by the improved McLarens of Coulthard and Raikkonen. Juan Pablo Montoya finished 8th, and seemed to be off the track more than on it.

European Grand Prix

Michael's Euro star Express at the Nurburgring

Sun 30-May-2004 13:44
Michael Schumacher led from start to finish today as normal service was resumed for the tifosi. After 60 laps, the polesitter crossed the finish line ahead of team mate Barrichello, coming through from seventh on the grid, with BAR's Jenson Button in third. It was a horrific day for McLaren as Kimi Raikkonnen's engine blew while second, and the same fate befell Coulthard, who had been impressive, climbing from 20th to 9th on the first lap alone! Jarno Trulli and Fernando Alonso were 4th and 5th in the now ultra reliable Renaults.Takumo Sato was unlucky again, starting from 2nd, he had a tussle with Barrichello , which was unfortunately followed by his second engine failure in two races. Ralf Schumacher was taken out by team mate Montoya on the first lap, with the Colombian trying to turn and brake at the same time, collecting his German team mate and Olivier Panis' Toyota. Fisichella finished 6th, with Mark Webber in 7th and a resilient, dogged and as usual, crazy, Juan Pablo Montoya ending up in 8th to collect the last remaining point on offer.

Monaco Grand Prix

Jarno proves he Trulli is the best at Monaco!!

Sun 23-May-2004 14:19
Jarno Trulli today won the most exciting Monaco Grand Prix in years as he held off Jenson Button's BAR in the heartstopping final laps of an unbelievable race. The pole sitter pitted just after the safety car came out for the second time as team mate Alonso came undone spectacularly in the tunnel trying to lap Ralf Schumacher. The elder Schumacher then tried to braketest the safety car in the yes, you guessed it, tunnel!!. Montoya right behind , swerved and was able to finish 4th, behind Michael's team mate, a strangely muted Rubens Barrichello.Fillipe Massa was 5th as only 9 cars finished. In 6th was Christiano Da Matta with the brilliant Nick Heidfeld giving Eddie Jordan and team a much needed 2 points.Olivier Panis was eight in the second Toyota. An amazing race which saw Sato, Raikkonenn, Ralf, Michael, DC, Fisichella, Pantano, Bruni, Klein and Webber all retire, gave F1 a much needed shot in the arm. The final stages of the race were reminiscent of Senna and Mansell's battles round the Harbour, but Button , as with Mansell could not get past. A Trulli amazing race!!

DC to support Kimi

Wed 25-Feb-2004 10:23
David Coulthard has been asked to act as McLaren's 'number two' F1 driver. The Scot, who does not have a silver seat beyond this season, is charged with the role of helping team-mate Kimi Raikkonen win, according to a former ace. 1982 season runner-up John Watson, from Ireland, reckons McLaren has done away with its equal-status policy on drivers, 'even though they won't admit it.' He told The Mirror: 'They claim to have equal number one status but in reality they know Kimi gives them the better chance of winning the championship.

Barcelona Grand Prix

Michael equals Mansell's Record

Sun 09-May-2004 13:50
Michael Schumacher has equalled Nigel Mansell's record of winning the first five grand prix of the season at Barcelona this afternoon.Although battling with a cracked exhaust , he cruised to another victory ahead of two stopping team mate Barrichello , with Jarno Trulli excelling in third , disappointing the Barcelona crowd by keeping young gun Alonso behind him.It was a bleak day for Williams, with Montoya having a terminal brake disc problem and Ralf only managing 6th. Sato was 5th with a brilliant strategic race by Fisichella and Sauber leaving the Italian in a brilliant 7th. Jenson Button rounded out the points in 8th after battling his way from 13th. Meanwhile the B version of this year's McLaren can't come soon enough for the Mercedes outfit as both Raikkonenn and DC failed to score. Sir Frank and Ron Dennis may well already be writing the 2004 season down to experience.
